Abstract

The article reports on the shortage of food supply in Poland. It is stated that this has been because of the country's overall economic crisis. With rising wages rising and declining exports, Poland is unable to make payments on its 27 billion dollar foreign debt to the West. Recently, the U.S. Administration announced plans to grant Poland 55 million dollar in long-term credits. Also, New York City-based CARE International launched a 5 million dollar emergency relief effort for Poland.
