Abstract
- In this article, the author reflects upon the need for starting the tradition of national poet laureate in the U.S. He mentions the laureateships awarded to poets in England and the poems written by them over political conditions of the country, and discusses the benefits of having poet laureates who can write verses on the U.S. politics. He also discusses the necessity of giving independence to such poets in their writings.
