Abstract

The article reports on the visit of Pope John Paul II to Zaire. It is stated that the Pope was received at the N'jili International Airport in Kinshasa, Zaire, by the country's President Mobutu Sese Seko and tribesmen performing zebra dance. It is reported that on his route to Kinshasa, the Pope repeated Mvidi Mukulu in Zairean dialect which means God bless you to crowd of more than 1 million people packed along the entire route. It is stated that the Pope plans to visit 30 African nations.
