Abstract

The article reports on the use of sheepskins in hospital beds in the U.S. It states that the method helps to keep the patient cool by letting air circulate even in hot weather provided that the patient's skin lie directly on the cropped wool. It cites Dr. Frederick G. Gaenslen who states that the air spaces in the wool enable the skin to dry and ease the pressure on the spine.
