Abstract

The article reports on the issue of exportation of Chinese art objects in U.S. It notes the difficult acquisition of license to ship by Hong Kong dealer J. D. Chen from the Treasury Department, in which it exercises the Trading-with-the-Enemy Act. In Los Angeles, Paul Yang was arrested by the customs in entrusting Chen's bronze turtle. Illegal Chinese treasures are also found in the gallery of Frank Caro in Berkeley, California, serving as an agent to Chen.
