Abstract
- The article focuses on the libel and contempt laws in Great Britain. It says that the lawyers of Dr. John Bodkin Adams, who was charged of murder, have filed libel writs against five London newspapers. It states that W. H. Smith & Son PLC was fined 140 dollars for distributing an issue of "Newsweek" that contains a story that was damaging to Dr. Adam's case. It adds that courts in Great Britain view more gravely the defamatory or contemptuous statements by newspapers than the U.S.
