Abstract
- The article discusses how Joseph Stalin, General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, died of cerebral hemorrhage in 1953. It details the efforts of Stalin's doctor to save his life. It also describes how Stalin's right arm and leg were paralyzed, unable to speak until he lapsed into unconsciousness. Following Stalin's death, the doctors needed to prove that they diagnosed his illness correctly and that proper treatment was applied.
