Abstract

The article profiles Democratic presidential candidate Adlai Stevenson in the U.S. One problem facing Stevenson is the fact that his party is loosely knit and fractious. Among the reasons for his reluctance to be the Democratic nominee are his disinclination to run against Dwight Eisenhower and his intention to continue his career as Illinois governor. He asserted that isolationism and World War III will result from the election of Eisenhower.
