Abstract
- The article reports on the risk and struggle facing farmers and ranchers of the Missouri Valley in Iowa in 1952. The Missouri Valley was under a state and federal public works program that aimed to tame the watershed. Several developments were made by Missouri Valley development program engineers including the construction of facilities to generate electric power, the construction of dams and reservoirs, and the establishment of power transmission lines.
