Abstract

The article discusses the views and recommendations of U.S. financier and mobilization authority Bernard Baruch on the cold war between the U.S. and Russia in June 1952. According to Baruch, the stretch-out of defense production goals set by the administration of U.S. President Harry Truman may cause disaster and threat to the national security of the U.S. Some of his recommendations for a swifter and safer mobilization include the establishment of a driving production authority within the armed service to decide on the designs of weapons to be used.
