Abstract

The article reports on the protests staged by inmates in several prison facilities in the U.S. as of late-April 1952. In New Jersey, inmates August Doak and William Dickens led the revolt in the state prison facility in Trenton. The prisoners appealed for a full investigation about the prison food and the complaints of brutal treatment of prisoners. The other revolts include the riot at the Rahway State Prison Farm, also in New Jersey, and at the Southern Michigan State Prison in Jackson, Michigan.
