Abstract

The article reports on the accomplishments made by U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson at the meetings held in London, England and Lisbon, Portugal. According to Acheson, an agreement was reached to make forces available to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) command of Supreme Allied Commander Dwight Eisenhower. Acheson also pointed that an agreement was made to approve the establishment of a European Army.
