Abstract

The article reports on the state of the Canadian economy in 1951, which jumped from 17.8 billion Canadian dollars in 1950 to 21 billion Canadian dollars in 1951. Canadian Minister of Trade & Commerce Clarence Decatur Howe described the year as a good one for Canadian business at home and aboard when he delivered the annual review of Canadian business. The 27 million Canadian dollars pulp mill built by Columbia Cellulose Co. and the 550 million Canadian dollars Kitimat project are some of the things proving that 1951 was indeed a good year for Canada.
