Abstract
- The article features Sam Rodilla, a tile-setter, and discusses his architectural sculpture in Los Angeles, California. It states that Rodilla was born in Italy, migrated to the U.S. in 1888, and decided to build something as a gift to his adopted country. His creation, a series of towers some standing as high as 104 feet, was made with seashells, cement, broken tiles and pottery, most of which he collected from the city dump, while others were donated to him by visitors watching him at work.
