Abstract
- The article profiles British impressionist artist Philip Wilson Steer and his work. Being a son of a portrait painter, Steer decided early that he will pursue art as a career. He studied at an art school in Gloucester, England. He used milder forms of French impressionism in London, England. By the time he passed away in 1942, he earned a reputation as one of England's finest modern painters.
