Abstract

The article assesses the economic, political and social conditions of communist China as of 1951. The country was able to balance the budget temporarily by using heavy taxation. The confusion of private and public enterprises about the price fixing, taxation and output campaign of the government is attributed to its numerous decrees. The New China News Agency has reported the emergence of people's justice or lynching in the city.
