Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the National Indoor tennis championship finals between Nancy Chafee and Beverly Baker in Manhattan, New York, in March 1951. It says that the match may have given fans a glimpse of a new tennis queen, which was won by Chafee after she delivered her slam-bang strokes. The author adds that the tennis match was closer than what the score indicated, which ended at 6-4, 6-4. Information on the practice schedule of Chafee and her campaign to win the Nationals at Forest Hills in Queens, New York, are also discussed.
