Abstract

The article offers information on fabric waterproofing agents made of silicones being developed by the Dow Chemical Co. Such agents are made of organic compounds with atoms of silicon built into their molecules, which offer better waterproofing capabilities than conventional methods. According to the company, the silicone treatment does not change the appearance or feel of the cloth.
