Abstract

The article views the cold war as a good war. Paul Hoffman, head of the European Cockpit Association (ECA), believes that Russia will be contained if the U.S. carries on a smart cold war. Implications of the Atlantic nation's aim to build a balanced, collective military force include the movement of free men, abandonment of a concept of balance among the Army, Navy and Air Force, acceptance of new obligations by the U.S., the surrender of sufficiency, and indication of U.S. belief in the integrity and determination of the Atlantic community.
