Abstract

The article discusses journalist Charles P. Arnot's role as director of Amerika-Dienst, the news and feature service of the U.S. High Commission in Germany. West German editors are described as using almost 400 pictures and more than one million words put out by the service in April 1950. The service culls the best articles from U.S. newspapers, books, and magazines, then translates and mails them to various newspapers. The service is said to enjoy the trust of German editors because it does not slant its stories.
