Abstract

The article focuses on Chilean President Gabriel Gonzalez Videla who is visiting the U.S. in April 1950. His itineraries will bring him to New York, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Houston, Texas and the Tennessee Valley Authority. The article describes Videla as Chile's ablest salesman. Videla is credited by the author for setting a fast-shifting political pace in the first half of his six-year presidential term. Communists' votes had helped him took office in 1946.
