Abstract

The article focuses on a warning issued by U.S. statesman and political consultant Bernard M. Baruch on the limited capability of the U.S. to maintain peace worldwide. In an address he delivered before the Naval War College at Newport, Rhode Island, he cited the inadequacy of the peacekeeping efforts of the current administration. He also suggested the establishment of a non-partisan body that will handle international and national security issues until the Cold War is won.
