Abstract

The article describes the rebuilding of Great Britain's historic House of Commons after it was destroyed by German bombs in May 1941. It notes the materials used for the reconstruction and the new furnishings that will come from members of the Commonwealth including the speaker's chair from Australia, doors from India and Pakistan, and the table from Canada. Key improvements such as airconditioning, fluorescent lighting, and 15 interviewing room are also cited.
