Abstract

The article highlights statistics concerning the use of palm oil in the U.S. Based on global statistics, use of palm oil in the country is at 4.6 percent compared with the soybean oil which accounts for 69 percent of consumption. In terms of global nutrition, 31 percent of global production of vegetable oil is accounted for by palm oil, while soybean oil accounts for 28 percent. Argentina, Malaysia and Indonesia are the leading net exporters of oils and fats.
