Abstract
- The article examines the economic status of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) during 2009. It is attested that the global economic recession did not impact the Lao PDR as heavily as it did some countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The author discusses the state of gross domestic product (GDP) in the nation, stemming from activities such as mining exports. Economic growth prospects in 2010 are analyzed.
