Randomized clinical trial of mesh versus sutured wound closure after open abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery.

The article presents a study which examines the application of mesh and sutured wound closure following open abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgery. An overview of the methodology used for the study is provided, along with information on AAA and incisional hernia. Researchers found that prophylactic preperitoneal polypropylene mesh closure lessened cases of incisional hernia after being subjected to elective open AAA repair.
