Abstract
- The article offers information related to the music historiography in Great Britain. It comments that a persistent idea in chamber music historiography is that 19th century Britain lacked a significant, serious chamber-music culture of the type so prevalent in Austro-Germany. It mentions that 20th century owed much to cultural ideologies embedded in the 19th century.
