Abstract
- The article profiles Donald Frederickson, an American public official who is campaigning to change the television image of cigarettes. He proposes that admired characters and series heroes must stop smoking on cameras in order to help dissuade young Americans from smoking everyday. According to Frederickson, not television sessions or techniques guarantee success but he believes that television stations have public responsibility in order to break the smoking habits.
