Abstract

The article reports on the "culture campaign" directed by local members of President Kenneth Kaunda's United National Independence Party (UNIP) in northern Zambia where members are trying to remove Westernize culture in their country. It highlights the use of miniskirts where UNIP members, mostly females, armed themselves with straight razors and placed themselves in public places, ready to slash stitches. It is said that UNIP is thinking of extending the campaign to the rest of the country.
