Abstract
- The article reports on the signs of economic strains in the U.S. Tilford C. Gaines of First National Bank of Chicago says that the demand for long-term credit is excessive to the available money supply. It cites the 5.95% increase of corporate bonds and insufficient borrowing cost to simulate the American economy. According to Treasury Secretary Henry Fowler, the decline of corporate tax revenues and spending increase of the Pentagon will push the 11-billion-dollar deficit in 1971.
