Abstract

The article focuses on the effects of the Vietnam war on the employment and production economy in the U.S. It mentions that Inland Steel Co. has hired 233 women while Jewel Tea Co. has employed women workers to add the supply of manpower and to deal with the demands of military and civilian citizens on various industries like appliance manufacturers, communications equipment and aircraft manufacturers. Meanwhile, the war has affected the metal industry, particularly copper and aluminum.
