Abstract

The article offers information related to the census conducted in 1966 to track down the most accurate head count in Australia. It highlights the sending of Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt of 18,500 census enumerators into the cities, suburbs, and outback to track down some 11.5 inhabitants. It states that each enumerators carried a 33-question census form and a language guide in eight tongues as disparate as Serbo-Croatian, and Maltese.
