Abstract

The article reports that five daily newspapers came back to operation in the second week of March 168 after they were forced to shut down in New York. It mentions that they closed down their operations because members of the International Typographical Union (ITU) hacked up 75 pages of "Boston Globe's" composing room. It states that only one newspaper, "The Christian Science Monitor" continued its operation, while federal and state mediators worked hard to end the strike.
