Abstract

The article reports on the inauguration of the first scheduled passenger service in the U.S. of the British-designed flying machine, Hovercraft. It states that the Hovercraft skims both land and sea and rides above the ground on compressed air. It indicates that the Hovercraft transports its passengers between Oakland and San Francisco, California airports. It adds that the Hovercraft is cheaper to run than helicopters and is more versatile than hydrofoils.
