Abstract

The article discusses a strategy developed at New York bridge tournaments to accommodate people's requests to resolve a bridge argument, wherein novices are invited to participate in a four-part program. A lecture is first given by an expert, after which the novices are asked to play in an event of their own. After the game, each player gets a printed analysis of what should have occurred on each deal. One such event in which bridge players Sam Stayman and Victor Mitchell played with novices is described.
