Abstract

The article profiles General William J. Fox, a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer who took up Mexican-style rodeo as a retirement hobby. He enrolled in the engineering school at the University of Southern California but dropped out in order to attend Artillery Officer Candidate School at Fort Monroe, Virginia. He became Director of Aviation and Chief Engineer for the County of Los Angeles but he gave up these duties to spend more time with his son. When he retired, he went to Mexico to study Spanish but he ended up in the town of San Miguel de Allende.
