Abstract

The article reveals the popularity of major league hockey with 94.5% of its rated seating capacity being sold out during the 1965 season. It says that season tickets in Canada's Montreal and Toronto are sold out ten years in advance, especially for games between league champions Chicago Black Hawks and Detroit Red Wings. It reveals the talks about expanding the league by having a second National Hockey League division of six more teams but members of the original 6 teams refuse to accede unless the plan does not jeopardize their present status.
