Abstract

The article focuses on the conflict between Russia and China on the city of Vladivostok in 1974. The city was founded by Russian settlers in the Pacific Coast in 1860 and named it the "Ruler of the East" to tease the Chinese. Vladivostok is situated on Golden Horn Bay which opens to the Sea of Japan where it was linked to Moscow by the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is the target of foreign intervention during the Russian Civil War and the home port of the Soviet Pacific fleet.
