Abstract

The article discusses the issue whether the Watergate Scandal tapes are tampered or not involving the abuse of power and bribery as well as obstruction of justice under the leadership of U.S. President Richard M. Nixon. Audio experts believe that a right person with enough skill and time and have accessed to the original tape recorder could make substantial changes that would defy detection in changing or tampering the tapes. However, Court of Appeals Judge John J. Sirica cooperates with audio experts to examine the Watergate tapes whether the electrical impulses of sound into visual patterns have erasures or have been edited.
