Abstract

The article reports on the skyjack of Japan Air Lines' Flight 404 that takeoff at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, Netherlands bound for Anchorage, Alaska en route to Tokyo, Japan by the Palestinian Liberation Movement in 1973. Schiphol traffic controller Jan de Haas was alerted by the pilot on the skyjack that happened. It mentions that the motive of the skyjacking is to fight for their Palestinian's sons and brothers imprisoned in Israel. It notes that the plane landed at Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and demanded the release of Kozo Okamoto, survivor of the three-man Japanese murder team responsible for the Lod Airport massacre in 1972.
