Abstract

The article offers information on protests over a large public-housing project for low-income, presumably mostly black, residents in New York City. The quite community of mostly middle-class Jews in Forest Hills, Queens, didn't like New York Mayor John Lindsay's idea of scattering housing for the poor throughout the city. The community wanted the governor to built the housing units in ghetto areas.
