Abstract

The article presents information regarding a crime in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in which three young friends from Scotland's Royal Highland Fusiliers were shot dead. The three friends were Dougald McCaughy, Joseph McCaig and John McCaig. The violence was a result of ongoing clashes involving the Protestant majority, the Catholic minority and the 8,500 British troops stationed in Ulster.
