Abstract

The article offers information on the newspaper preservation bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives, to protect the U.S. newspaper industry from antitrust laws. It states that separately owned but jointly produced papers will share profits and will fix the advertising rates jointly. However, the publishers argued that without the antitrust regulation, papers will reduce the production and labor costs, consequently reducing the editorial voices.
