Abstract
- The article focuses on the meeting between foreign ministers of six Common Market nations of Europe with the delegates from other four applicants. It states that Great Britain and its three fellow applicants in the market would make the rival of the superpowers in terms of population and gross national product. The applicants along with Great Britain includes Ireland, Norway and Denmark. It reports that the Common Market has evolved a subsidy system that in effect supports the inefficient farms of France and Italy at the expense of the other countries. It further reports that Prime Minister Edward Heath has made it clear that Britain is not willing to pay any price to join the Market.
