Abstract

The article reports that political leaders of North Vietnam are determined to press the war in the South Vietnam at the time of Tet celebration which is Vietnamese Lunar New Year's festival, celebrated in late January or early February. Allied intelligence Inc. experts point to a tenfold increase in truck traffic through eastern Laos in recent months as proof that some action is planned. It also informs that Hanoi, capital of North Vietnam is thinking of a prolonged struggle rather than a quick victory as indicated by two North Vietnamese political journals from Defense Minister Vo Nguyen Giap, in which he offered no hope for the swift, decisive victory as he had promised in his book, "People's War, People's Army," in 1961. He wrote that our people will certainly win but we must have time.
