Abstract
- The article focuses on the functions and operating politics of American television. It states that television could electronically unite different culture including theater, concerts, and newspapers if it would be allowed by the audience. It mentions that the role of minorities in television programs including women, blacks and ethnic groups are underrepresented particularly in dramas, as reported by the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. It says that the Commission suggested the formulation of regulations by the Federal Communications Commission to promote diversity in television. Meanwhile, television writer Ben Stein notes the infestation of liberal smart in television entertainment shows, which is both antimilitary and antibusiness as explored in his book "The View from Sunset Boulevard."
