Abstract

The article focuses on the business negotiations between the Chinese and U.S. firms in China. It notes that U.S. companies are facing difficulties in trying to push through an open door to China trade including the preparation of reams of technical material for Chinese bureaucrats who will want to debate every minute specification of a widget. It mentions that new U.S. deals with China to build hotels, open iron mines, sell planes, oil drilling equipment and even the endorsement of the softdrink Coca-Cola have been increasing.
