Abstract
- The article offers information on the achievements of Party Chief Leonid Brezhnev in the U.S. It states that the potential rivals of Brezhnev who he has been dealt with include Alexander Shelepin, the Whiz Kid Shelepin and Dmitri Polyansky. It notes that the principal achievement of Brezhnev has been his success of convincing his colleagues that detente with the West is desirable ad necessary, while his main failure has been in the Middle East, where two of Kremlin's two most trusted clients have spent much of the year shooting at each other. Moreover, he has also approved the increase of Soviet military budget that have financed an unparalleled improvement in Russian missilery.
