Abstract

The article focuses on the efforts of the U.S. to maintain its relation with Asian countries despite of what the Viet Nam war has caused. It states that in order to keep America's friendship with Asians, the American State Department intended to pay attention at the natural resources, industrial centers and population, and American treaty commitments of Asia. It also mentions that Washington also planned to request Japan to take more costly and active part in Asia since it is considered as an industrial country. Meanwhile, heightened Sino-Soviet dispute remained a concern despite of the efforts of the U.S. to uphold its Asian relations.
