Abstract
- The article provides information on a World Team Tennis (WTT) sponsored series of tennis games between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The idea of pitting the tennis teams of the Americans against the Soviets was the brainchild of Women's Tennis Association (WTA) president Larry King and executive secretary Bill Bereman. Upon agreement with Soviet Lawn Tennis Federation Secretary Vladimir A. Golenko, the first 2 matches will be held in Moscow and the remaining 3 will be played at Philadelphia, Cleveland and Indianapolis respectively.
